Piano Movers for Upright, Baby Grand and Grand Pianos
Moving a piano takes planning, the right crew and careful handling. LA Movings moves upright, baby grand, grand and digital pianos across Los Angeles. Tell us the type and size of your piano and the stairs and doorway widths at both addresses, and we will recommend a crew and give a free quote.
- Why People Choose Our Services
How We Move a Piano
We protect the piano with padding and wrap, secure it with straps, and use dollies and a planned path to keep it level. Floors, doorways and stairs are protected along the way. Have the piano tuned after it settles in its new home.
Stairs, Tight Turns and Narrow Doorways
Stairs and tight turns are the biggest risk in a piano move. Tell us the number of steps, landings and doorway widths so we can bring enough movers. Longer stair runs and larger grand pianos need a bigger crew.
- Our Work Process
Piano Moving Across the LA Area
We move pianos in Hollywood, West Hollywood, Downtown LA and the Westside. See our pages for Beverly Hills, Brentwood and Malibu.
Free Piano Quote
Tell us the type of piano, the stairs and both addresses. We reply with a clear estimate.
Wrapping and Protection
We pad and wrap the piano, secure it on a piano board and strap it in the truck.
Careful Placement
We set the piano where you want it. If it needs tuning after the move, a piano technician can help.

Pricing for Piano Moves
Piano moves depend on piano size, stairs and distance, so we quote each job. Ask for a free quote and we will explain the price before moving day. For hourly pricing on a full home move, see our moving rates.
Before Moving Day
- Clear a path from the piano to the door and the truck.
- Measure doorways, hallways and stair width at both addresses.
- Remove items from the top and lock the lid and fallboard if you can.
- Tell us if there are steps, a curb or a steep driveway.
What to Tell Us for Your Quote
Piano type and brand, approximate size, floors at both addresses, steps and parking. Photos help.
